The Future of Work: Are We Moving Towards a Workless Society?

As the world continues to evolve and technology keeps advancing, it begs the question: are we moving towards a workless society or a society that works less? Our notions of work and how it is done have seen an increasing reliance on technology and automation (especially to perform tasks that were previously the sole domain of human workers). This has led me (and some of you reading this) to question the future of work and whether we are moving towards a workless society. While this might sound futuristic and sci-fi, it should not be dismissed lightly. Seriously, the prospect of a workless society could be a detriment for businesses, workers, and taxpayers.

Artificial intelligence (AI) and automation have become increasingly popular in the workforce. They are being used for everything from scheduling assistants to data analytics analysts. Some businesses are even using robots as waiters in restaurants! Technology has allowed faster, cheaper, and more efficient production of goods and services. this is certainly good news for business owners and entrepreneurs; it has created a situation where many traditional jobs are at risk of being replaced by machines.
